Pre-Workout Boost

Should you eat prior to working out? The answer is yes. However, do not eat too close to your workout, as your stomach may not have time to digest. This may cause nausea or GI issues. It is best to eat about an hour or two before your workout.


What should you eat prior to working out? A good mix of carbs and protein is important. The carbs give you fuel, and the protein rebuilds and repairs.


Here are a few suggestions:


  • Apple with nut butter or peanut butter

  • Peanut butter and banana sandwich

  • Oatmeal with non-dairy milk and fruit

  • Greek yogurt with fresh fruit

Of course, the type of workout you do will depend on how much you should eat. Always choose whole food, and nothing processed. Processed foods will not digest properly, and you could experience an energy crash during your workout routine. Remember to stay hydrated, as well!

Ingredients


½ cup NingXia Red

2 tablespoons chia seeds

2 drops Tangerine Vitality™ essential oil

½ cup yogurt (if you want a thicker, puddling-like texture)

1 tablespoon honey


Suggested toppings: tangerine or orange slices, banana slices


Instructions


In a small bowl or cup, mix NingXia Red, chia seeds, Tangerine Vitality, yogurt, and honey.

Cover and let sit in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 4 hours.

Add desired toppings and serve cold.
